Conventional Accessible Service
All York Region Transit (YRT/Viva) services are accessible, meaning all buses on these routes are low-floor accessible and/or equipped with a ramp. There is designated accessible seating available near the front of every YRT/Viva vehicle. Riders must be able to safely maneuver their mobility device.
Support Persons
Passengers requiring care when travelling are requested to travel with a support person. Under certain conditions, a support person is permitted to travel with a passenger requiring assistance, covered under the same fare. For information on how to apply for a Support Person Card/Ticket, click here.
Wheeled Mobility Aids
YRT/Viva buses can accommodate up to two mobility devices, on each bus on a first come, first served basis. However a maximum of five mobility devices can be accommodated with an additional four seated passengers if an ARBOC Bus was used.
Buses can accommodate wheeled mobility aids up to:
- 134.6 cmin length,
- 86 cm in width, and
- 600-800lbs in weight (when occupied).
