Service Alert Toronto Island Ferry information: 416-392-8193 The City continues to work closely with Toronto and Region Conservation Authority and Environment Canada to monitor Lake Ontario water levels which, even without further rainfall, are expected to rise for several more weeks. Once Lake Ontario reaches its peak level, experts anticipate that it will take weeks for water levels to return to normal. To date, 20,000 sandbags have been placed on shorelines in Toronto Island Park and throughout the city, and five large industrial pumps are being used to remove surface pooling. In order to ensure the safety of the public and the security of our facilities, Toronto Island Park will remain closed to the general public, regular ferry service will remain suspended, and all permits have been cancelled until June 30. Staff will continue to monitor conditions closely. We will continue to keep you updated and apprised of any changes to operations. During this time, ferry service to Ward's Island Dock will continue on the spring schedule for residents and their guests, staff, and emergency personnel only.Regular Ferry Service to Centre Island and Hanlan's Point Docks is cancelled.
